Led by Medical Director, Erik S. Johnson OTR/L, OSD’s Respawn program emphasizes therapy through gaming. Johnson said, “There’s also a lot of research out there that talks about the benefits of gaming as it relates to cognition. I love that we’re seeing more and more research as it relates to health benefits and video games.”

Since 2016, OSD Seattle has been working closely with the Adaptive Sports Program at the JBLM WTB utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) for therapy. The occupational therapists join their patients for outings that emphasize range-of-motion, cognition and the benefits of a friendly social environment.
